Safety Precautions

Whenever possible, don't enter a grain bin. If you must enter the bin, as a farm owner/operator you should:

Break up crusted grain from the outside of the bin with a long pole. When using a pole, check to see that it doesn't come into contact with electric lines.
Wear a harness attached to a properly secured rope.

Before her disease took over, she worked as a home health nurse and traveled the Madisonville area caring for others. Roxanne was an dedicated home keeper, team mother and passionate cook. Her family was, and is, everything to her.

A Fourth of July picnic of Americans' favorite foods including hot dogs, cheeseburgers, pork spare ribs, potato salad, baked beans, lemonade and chocolate milk is affordable this summer at less than $6 per person, according to an informal survey conducted by the American Farm Bureau Federation. The average cost for a summer picnic for 10 is $57.20 or $5.72 per person according to AFBF.

Major Beef Recall Due To Possible E-Coli Contamination

National Beef Packing company in Kansas is recalling nearly 23-thousand pounds of raw ground beef products.
The recall is due to the possible contamination of E-Coli, which was discovered through routine monitoring.
The U.S. Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) is concerned that some products may be frozen in shoppers' freezers.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service the following products are subject to recall:

For over 25 years, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has become a popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer.

Here are the basics: a farmer offers a certain number of "shares" to the public. Typically the share consists of a box of vegetables, but other farm products may be included. Interested consumers purchase a share (aka a "membership" or a "subscription") and in return receive a box (bag, basket) of seasonal produce each week throughout the farming season.
